Meridian Wellbeing Services is partnered with Directions ACT to provide free and confidential counselling for individuals affected by their own or another person’s use of alcohol, drugs or other substance dependence. We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive and non-judgemental therapeutic environment that values the unique lived experiences of anyone seeking alcohol and other drugs counselling.
We welcome members of the community regardless of gender, sexuality, sexual orientation, ability, cultural background or religious belief.
The counsellor will conduct an initial assessment to address the client’s needs and issues and provide the best possible care plan for them. Alcohol and other drug practitioners use a variety of therapeutic approaches including cognitive behaviour therapy, motivational interviewing and person-centred practice, to help clients achieve safer drug use, controlled use or abstinence. The harm reduction approaches aim to reduce the negative consequences associated with alcohol and other drug use and reduce other related risk factors.
The in-reach AOD counselling will be delivered at Meridian premises.
