About this module
Do you want to feel comfortable and confident in providing inclusive and affirming healthcare to people from LGBTIQA+ communities who use your healthcare services?
Our Affirming Healthcare module will give you the skills and knowledge to confidently embrace diversity and deliver inclusive and affirming healthcare, improving the experiences of your LGBTIQA+ service users. Through open discussions and a range of activities, you will have opportunities to put this knowledge and skills into practice.
This module provides individual healthcare practitioners with a framework to deliver inclusive healthcare as well as ways to support inclusive practices at a systemic level. This 2-pronged approach will help eliminate stigma and discrimination in your service delivery to LGBTIQA+ people.
This module draws on current stigma and discrimination research from the Centre for Social Research in Health, UNSW, and can also help build your confidence in working with people from other marginalised communities.

- Identify and develop inclusive healthcare practices at an individual level.
- Explore inclusive healthcare practices at a systemic level.
