Meridian provides inclusive practice training and consultation to help you build capacity, knowledge and confidence. Whether you’re embarking on your inclusive practice journey, are on the way and feel like you could benefit from more knowledge and skills, or want to refresh your existing knowledge, we can help.
We take pride in providing training and education to build your capacity, knowledge and confidence in delivering inclusive and affirming practices and services to people from sexuality and gender-diverse communities (LGBTQ+), people who are impacted by HIV, and sex workers.
We provide a diverse range of training programs and delivery options. If none of our existing options are just right, we offer tailored training sessions focused on topics of learning and discussion specific to your organisation.
Trainers: All sessions are delivered by our skilled trainers who bring a wealth of lived experience, professional skill and local knowledge.
Duration: Training sessions are between 2 and 3 hours long, depending on the module.
Style: Our training isn’t just staring at a presentation. The most effective training experiences come from lively discussion, so we encourage all participants to ask questions using the language they have. Our trainers offer valuable insights about barriers and challenges people from LGBTQ+ communities face when accessing services, as well as practical ideas to help people feel included and welcomed in your service.
Group size: We provide training to small groups of up to 25 participants.
Delivery method: Training can be delivered:
- in person at your workplace or another venue of your choosing
- online via Microsoft Teams or Zoom
- hybrid, with both training room and online attendance.
Outcomes: Active and engaged participants leave with new skills, new insights and a wide range of valuable resources, tools and strategies to enhance and build on their inclusive practice policies and action plans.
