ACT Health invites you to participate in this study to help them better understand the health and wellbeing and current experiences of LGBTIQ+ Canberrans. The term LGBTIQ+ is respectfully used as an umbrella term and is not intended to be limited to only those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender diverse, intersex and/or queer.
LGBTIQ+ people experience major health disparities compared to the general population, which are often underreported in health surveys. The CBR Health and Wellbeing Study will provide valuable information to inform policies and programs relating to mental health and wellbeing, discrimination, alcohol and other drugs, and health promotion so that health services meet the needs and priorities of LGBTIQ+ Canberrans in an inclusive and responsive way. It will include questions regarding health and wellbeing that weren’t included in the LGBTIQ+ Scoping Study (undertaken in 2020).
The study will also serve as a trial for the feasibility and acceptability of mobile phone data collection methods in the ACT community.
The study will remain open for enrolment until COB Thursday 30 November 2023. Once enrolled, participants will have eight weeks to complete the survey questions.
