The ACT Government Office of LGBTIQ+ Affairs invites you to participate in the LGBTIQ+ Communities Roundtable. As the coordinating body for strategic government projects and policies, we are committed to making Canberra the most LGBTIQ+ welcoming and inclusive city in Australia.
In 2022, we conducted an extensive survey to capture the current needs and priorities of our LGBTIQ+ community. Building upon these insights, the roundtable offers an opportunity to delve deeper into the experiences of service access and discrimination faced by our community members. It is a crucial platform to test proposed solutions and gather feedback directly from the community.
To ensure meaningful discussions participation is capped at 30 places. The event is open to all LGBTIQ+ community members. We welcome individuals of all ages, genders, races, sexualities, abilities, migration statuses, and backgrounds as well as parents and carers of LGBTIQ+ children and young people to participate. By bringing together a diverse range of perspectives, we can create a comprehensive strategy to address the challenges faced by our community and ensure equality for all.
Spaces for the roundtable are limited, so please register early to secure your spot. In-person participation is preferred, but virtual participation is also possible. Only one registration per person is allowed. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
Registration will close on Thursday September 7. The Office will review all received registrations and confirm registration or waitlisting on September 8.
We look forward to your valuable contribution as we work towards making Canberra a truly inclusive and welcoming city for all LGBTIQ+ individuals.
