Trans Day of Visibility special screening of I Saw the TV Glow

The NFSA is hosting a Trans Day of Visibility special screening this month, I Saw the TV Glow, presented in partnership with A Gender Agenda.

The screening will take place in the beautiful Arc Cinema at 4pm on Saturday 29 March, tickets are $16 Full / $12 Concession. With the cafe opening an hour before the screening for drinks and snacks.

About the film

I Saw the TV Glow explores queer identity and dysphoria. The film uses its eerie, dreamlike atmosphere to reflect the experience of feeling out of place in one's own life, mirroring the struggles of gender and sexual identity. Owen’s growing obsession with The Pink Opaque serves as a metaphor for yearning for a world where he can truly be himself, while Maddy represents a figure of queer awakening and understanding.

About the writer / director

Jane Schoenbrun (they/she) is a non-binary American filmmaker, writer, and curator committed to making and supporting personal, art-driven cinema.
